So here’s the deal: I’ve spent more hours than I can count obsessing over tiny little creative decisions. You know, the “should this shade be a bit more red or blue” kind of stuff. I’ve agonized over single frames in digital art and let me tell you, it’s a ride.
And sure, maybe part of me would have loved an AI to just come in and do the tedious bits. But I don’t regret the deep dive into that craft.
Now, here’s the thing: I’m not here to teach you how to make AI-generated art. Not because it’s not cool, but because you can pretty much just tell a language model what you want and it’ll spit something out. You’ll know straight away if it worked or not. There’s no deep mystery there.
What I’m way more interested in is showing you the shortcuts that actually matter. Like how to quickly upload that Excel file to your workspace so you don’t lose your train of thought. Or how to set up a task and let it run while you’re doing something else.
Basically, the digital literacy stuff that actually makes your life easier, not just prettier.
Context
If you’re wondering when I found the time to write this, I didn’t sit down at a desk to do it. I dictated this while standing at the Dakabin Waste Management Facility, throwing out garden waste so I could move house.
I was talking. The AI was cleaning it up. I still had to do the gardening. That’s the point.
I’m not trying to win debates about AI art or ethics here. I’m trying to help people work smarter with the tools they already have.
And if helping me do that also helps me maybe afford a house one day, feel free to book a session.
